Grandma's (Sharon) Carmel

2 cups sugar
2 cups cream
1 cup butter
1 3/4 cup light corn syrup
1 tsp. vanilla

Cook in heavy pan all except vanilla, stirring constantly over med-high heat until carmel reaches soft ball stage then cook 1/2 min. longer. Take off stove add vanilla pour into buttered 9x13 pan.
